T71/874: claim by Richard Barrett, as receiver in Barrett vs Barrett. Counterclaim from Wm. Dyer, as administrator of John Graham Clarke, a judgement creditor (dated October 1816) for £40,000. £371 6s 3d of the claim went to the Jamaican Court of Chancery in Barrett vs Barrett.

Barrett, The Barretts of Jamaica: The Family of Elizabeth Barrett Browning (Athlone, Continuum International Publishing Group, 2000) p. 102: letter, dated 01/10/1838, from James Graham Clarke to Sam Moulton Barrett, stating that Spring, Schawfield and Thatchfield estates are under the receiver Mr R. Barrett: 'Can you learn from [sic] me how these properties are manag'd - if Mr S. Barrett takes any undue part in the managt - and how he conducts himself'. Ibid. p. 127: Boddington & Co. have Samuel Goodin Barrett arrested in London, 01/03/1844.
