IOE Centre hosts work experience with University of Lyon speech and language therapy students

The Centre for Language, Literacy and Numeracy: Research and Practice (LLN:R&P) welcomed two students for a three-week research work experience visit at UCL Institute of Education (IOE).
Jeanne and Pamela are in the third year of their speech and language therapy training at the University of Lyon in France. While at the IOE they took part in a project tracking the development of French spelling in the primary years, led by centre members Nelly Joye, Professor Julie Dockrell and Professor Chloë Marshall.
During their work experience, which ran from 21 May to 8 June 2018, Jeanne and Pamela developed a framework for the analysis of French spelling errors in written texts, and practiced analysing and presenting their findings. They also enjoyed meeting members of the research team and finding out about current research in language and literacy at various IOE seminars.
The LLN:R&P centre wishes Pamela and Jeanne all the best in their studies.
