Rebecca Allen
Professor Rebecca Allen is Director of the Centre for Education Improvement Science (CEIS) at the IOE. 

CEIS spans research in the economics of education, cognitive psychology and neuroscience.  Rebecca is an expert in the analysis of large scale administrative and survey datasets.

Her research explores the impact of government reforms on school behaviour, with a particular focus on school accountability and performance and teacher labour markets. Between 2014 and 2017 she founded and led Education Datalab.

About IOE Debates

Through this series we bring together a range of commentators - academics, politicians, practitioners, policy wonks - and pushing them to bring some radical new thinking to some of the apparently intractable issues within education, not least the English education system.

This can help all of us reflect on the status quo, celebrate progress but also consider how we might change things for the better to achieve commonly held goals for our education system and what it can do for us all.
