Cognitive emotional factors in mathematics development: Large population studies

Dr Szücs (University of Cambridge) will review large population projects that examine variables which support cognitive mathematical development. This will explore developmental dyscalculia, emotional block of mathematical performance and mathematics anxiety.

The Centre for Language, Literacy and Numeracy: Research and Practice is hosting a winter lecture with an aim to give the UCL community the opportunity to learn about the work of a prestigious researcher.

Dr Dénes Szücs’ lecture will present some of his findings in the area of:

  • mathematical understanding and development
  • mathematics anxiety (including gender differences)
  • dyscalculia
  • gifted mathematics.

Drinks will be served after the lecture.
