Post-socialist Art Centre (PACT)
PACT is dedicated to the study of the art and visual culture of socialism and postsocialism in a global and comparative perspective. This entails research into the distinctive art practices, movements and circuits that existed in socialist states for much of the twentieth century, in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, but equally across Asia, Africa and Latin America. The centre also investigates the work of contemporary artists in activating the potential histories of actually existing socialism, with a focus on the contested environmental legacies and divergent trajectories of the socialist Anthropocene.
