The Exoplanets Group, part of the Astrophysics Group in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at UCL, works to observe and characterise planets around other stars, through the development of new data reduction and atmospheric modelling techniques. The group includes specialists in machine learning, atmospheric modelling and radiative transfer, and has a lead role in the development of the ESA ARIEL mission.
Planetary interiors, atmospheres and magnetospheres; the impact of the space environment on human physiology and life; and the application of current knowledge to investigations of extrasolar planets - worlds in other stellar systems.
CSED is a major national and international hub to foster intersections between cutting-edge exoplanet science, industry, public space organisations and SMEs. The Centre is located in the Harwell Space Cluster, the gateway to the UK space sector.
