In this pack we will discuss the multicultural society in the Netherlands. Since the end of the last millennium it is generally accepted that the Netherlands is a multicultural society. The population of the Netherlands is made up of many communities
from different cultures and religions, many speaking different languages. Especially since the arrival of people with a non-Western background, the so-called non-Western immigrants, the Netherlands has been called a multicultural society. In this study pack the focus is on the non-Western immigrant groups.
In this study pack we will describe who the immigrants are, how they came to the Netherlands and for what reasons. We will discuss the immigration and integration policies of the Dutch government, as well as the common problems of multicultural societies.
