Photograph of a stack of lots of different sized pieces of coloured paper.

The Petrie Museum of Egyptian and Sudanese Archaeology invites you to join artist Steph Hartman and make your very own collage mirror card to give to a loved one. The inspiration behind this collage choice lies with one of the museum's more unusual objects: a Korean bronze mirror, engraved with a motif of a Chinese phoenix gifted by a Japanese archaeologist. Come along to discover more about this fascinating object and the complex history it tells of relations between the East and the West within the field of archaeology.

Collage Club is a workshop series celebrating the art of cutting and sticking. Embracing hands-on techniques and using scissors as a drawing tool, Collage Club workshops are perfect for anyone keen to flex their creative muscles and get making without having to produce perfectly proportioned, disciplined drawings. Rip, cut and stick beautiful compositions using materials that include hand-painted papers, colourful sheets and shapes!

Audience

This workshop is suitable for ages 6+ but young children will need adult help. There will also be colouring sheets available for younger children.
