Background
Jianqing Fan, is a statistician and financial econometrician. He is the current Frederick L. Moore ’18 Professor of Finance, Professor of Statistics, and Chairman of Department of Operations Research and Financial Engineering (since 2012) at the Princeton University. He is the winner of The 2000 COPSS Presidents’ Award, Morningside Gold Medal for Applied Mathematics (2007), and Guggenheim Fellow (2009). He got elected to Academician from Academia Sinica in 2012.
Research
Fan is interested in statistical methods in finance, economics, risk management, high-dimensional statistics and machine learning , computational biology, biostatistics,nonparametric modeling, longitudinal and functional data analysis, nonlinear time series,wavelets and their applications, among others.
