EGA Hospital Charity

EGA Hospital Charity supports both patients and staff at the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Wing of University College London Hospital.

Who we are

The Charity’s aims are “the relief of sickness, protection and preservation of the health of women”. We do this by supporting the care of women in the EGA Hospital, and indirectly through support for staff and grants for research and training.

What we do

We award funds for research projects focusing on Women’s Health through UCLH and IfWH. We also have a nationwide award of £5000 given annually towards travel costs for UK trainees in Obstetrics and Gynaecology undertaking projects overseas: The EGA Charity Travelling Fellowship Award in memory of Anne Boutwood. Projects in 2021 included staff training for gynae emergencies, discharge videos for parents after birth, translation of information leaflets, support for parents of babies born with disabilities, and much more.
