Event Information

Location

UCL Darwin Lecture Theatre, Gower Street, London WC1E 6BT

In this lecture Dr Rachel Morley will examine Russian cinema in 1915, a key year in the development of this art form.

Exploring Russian feature films released that year from the perspectives of cinematic innovation, thematic concerns, the developing star system and popular genres, it will provide a snapshot of the type of films enjoyed by Russian cinema-goers a century ago and demonstrate the richness and sophistication of the pre-Revolutionary Russian film industry.
