Student Statistics

Student Statistics data provides information on the composition of UCL's student body. Both current and historical data is provided, in some cases dating back to 1995-96.

There are two types of table available:

1. Single Year Tables - A new table is provided each year, and historical tables remain available. Select the table below and choose a year.

2. Time Series Tables - These tables usually show 5 or 10 years data in a single table which is updated each year.

Notes

All data is as at 1st December of the relevant academic year. This means enrolments after that point, for example January starting affiliates, are not included.

Data is updated in January each year. The most recent data available is 2013-14.

The figures are a headcount, not FTEs, and should not be used to estimate any form of teaching effort. For example, in the case of joint programmes, students are only counted under their department of home enrolment.

The tables and diagrams provide consistent year on year comparators, but should not be used as a source of data for resource bidding whether for cash, space, library or computing allocations.
