Olga Koroleva is working with POST Artists' Network on Canalology 2014, a one day festival bringing artworks to Tottenhams canalside. See postartists.com for further information and www.sponsume.com/project to help sponsor the project.

Visual Thinking: Turning Landscape into Colour, a collaborative project between Dr Spike Bucklow, Onya McCausland, Dr. Ruth Siddall and Slade lecturer Jo Volley, is taking place at Camden Arts Centre, Arkwright Road, London NW3 6DG, from 3 March - 26 March 2014. 

There will be a series of open studios, talks, demonstrations and screenings of recordings of material processes. By the end of the month a series of brand new artists paints will be manufactured. See www.camdenartscentre.org and the project blog. This is part of the Materials Research Project.

Events include:

Visual Thinking Open Studios
Saturdays, 8, 15 & 22 March 2014, 12.00 - 5.00pm
Over three Saturdays, the Artists’ Studio will be open for visitors to find out more about the processes involved in creating pigments.

Visual Thinking: On Fire
Tuesday 18 March 2014, 10.00am - 4.00pm
Dr. Spike Bucklow, Research Scientist at the Hamilton Kerr Institute, University of Cambridge and Onya McCausland will burn ochre in the Garden. Visitors are welcome to watch as this takes place.

Visual Thinking Talks
Wednesday 26 March 2014, 6.00 - 8.00pm
Paul Robinson discusses methods that Winsor & Newton adopted to achieve colour consistency in the 19th century; Jo Volley introduces the Materials Research Project at The Slade School of Fine Art, UCL; Onya McCausland marks the end of the project with an overview of the group's research, contributions and outcomes.

Sarah Choo's film, The Hidden Dimension II, has been selected for the Best of CHB, Collegium Hungaricum Berlin, Dorotheensrtaße 12, D-10117 Berlin-Mitte, from 27 February - 16 March 2014. See www.hungaricum.de.

Alumni Rose Davey, Claire Dorsett and Sarah Kate Wilson, lecturers Lisa Milroy and Gary Woodley  and Emeritus Professor Bruce McLean are showing in Tortoise at WW Gallery, 34/35 Hatton Garden, London EC1N 8DX from 13 February - 15 March 2014. See www.wilsonwilliamsgallery.com/.

Connie Butler and Lauren Godfrey (under the publishing collective Vanessa Visual and Virginia Verbal) are working on the third issue of Her Eyes and My Voice: Decorative Grammar, which invites  a selection of established and emerging artists to contribute essays, imagery, poetry etc in response to the title. In order to help fund the publication, they have set up a fundraiser on Kickstarter, the crowdfunding website. A limited edition, signed Vanessa Visual and Virginia Verbal screen print is offered for a £25 pledge. See www.kickstarter.com/projects for further information.
