Colour & Poetry: A Symposium VI demonstrations on Saturday 9 March, at Cass Art, 66-67 Colebrooke Row, London, N1 8A, 11am-1pm 

FREE, all welcome.

11am–1pm: Paste Papers with James Keith

Paste Papers are a method of producing decorated papers using a paste with colourants added which is coated on to paper then worked with various tools to create beautiful decorative effects.

James Keith is an artist and the Slade Print Technician


1pm–2pm: Ask the Conservator with Kimberly Selvaggi

In this session ask the conservator painted related issues with your work.

Kimberly Selvaggi is a former Slade Conservator-in-Residence 2020-22 and 2022-23 Scientist-in-Residence at the Slade, pursuing a career in the practice of heritage conservation with a special interest in dyes, paints, and pigments. She is currently the Artist-in-Residence at UCL Centre for Integrative Anatomy


2pm–4pm: Primary Triad with Ian Rowlands

Hands on colour mixing exploring the crucial attributes of colour; hue, value and saturation and arguing the case for the restricted palette as a highly empowering experience. The primary triad is capable of creating harmony and diversity.

Ian Rowlands is an artist and TFAC demonstrator who teaches on the Slade Short Courses, Summer School and regularly for the Slade Material Research Project.
