Panel discussion event: 'That Godless institution in Gower Street'

11 November 2011

A secular approach is relied upon at UCL to deliver pluralism, equality and tolerance.

Quad But how much does UCL's version of secularism really accommodate difference? Are non-religious perspectives privileged at UCL? And if so, is this sustainable in an increasingly globalised university?

Staff are invited to this panel discussion on Tuesday 22 November from 5.30pm -7pm in Roberts Room 421, 4th Floor, Roberts Building. It will explore both historical and contemporary understandings of secularism at UCL and will invite the audience to join in this intellectual and moral dialogue. Chaired by Professor Anthony Finklestein, UCL's Equality Champion for Race, Religion and Belief, this event is being held to coincide with national Interfaith Week.

To confirm your attendance, please email Sonal Bharadva, in the UCL Equalities and Diversity team.
