New UCL President & Provost: changes to staff communications and office contact details

6 September 2013

Professor Michael Arthur, UCL President & Provost, came into role on 2 September 2013.

UCL staff are asked to take note of the following changes to his contact details and to staff communications.

Contact details

Professor Michael Arthur's direct email address for all UCL business will be michael.arthur@ucl.ac.uk. Please note that Professor Arthur will not be using the address provost@ucl.ac.uk, the address used by Professor Sir Malcolm Grant, UCL's previous President & Provost.

For any general matters for the Provost's Office, please use the email address provosts.office@ucl.ac.uk, which is managed by Professor Arthur's administrative team. This replaces the email address provostspa@ucl.ac.uk.

Up-to-date contact details for the Provost's Office can be found at www.ucl.ac.uk/provost

Internal communications changes

For term-time communication with staff, Professor Arthur will be publishing a series of weekly articles as well as longer monthly thought pieces. These will be promoted through The Week@UCL and will be signposted prominently at points across the UCL website, including from the Provost's own website. The email address provostnewsletter@ucl.ac.uk will be discontinued.

The Week@UCL, UCL's weekly e-newsletter which runs throughout the year, will continue to carry news and announcements that need to be communicated to all UCL staff. Please continue to contact internalcommunications@ucl.ac.uk with details of these.

In addition, in response to user feedback, The Week@UCL has undergone a redesign and will now be send out on a Thursday rather than a Friday. These changes will come into place at the end of September.

If you have notice of an award or appointment or notice of a death of a former member of staff or alumni of your faculty, please notify your Faculty Communications Manager with details in the first instance.
