  • Mrs Lori Manders has been appointed Director of Development and Alumni Relations at UCL, with effect from 1 February 2011.

    Lori is currently Director of Development and External Affairs at the University of Aberdeen, a position she has held since 2003. Lori has worked at the University of Aberdeen for a total of 12 years, previously holding positions as the university's first Director of Marketing, and Director of Student Recruitment & Admissions. Most recently she has played a prominent role at the university, leading its largest ever fundraising campaign which has raised over £200m to date.

    Lori Manders is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and in May 2010 was appointed to the European Board of Trustees of CASE (the international Council for Advancement and Support of Education).

    Mrs Manders said: "It is a privilege to have been given the opportunity to contribute to one of the world's leading universities. I look forward to working with colleagues across UCL to increase philanthropic support  and connect with the wider UCL community. I want to ensure that development and alumni relations at UCL enters its next phase with the goal of significantly increasing philanthropic support for institutional priorities and in doing so I expect UCL's to become one of the most successful fundraising campaigns in the country."
