Lahun (el-Lahun, Kahun)
(29°14' N 30°58'E - the ancient site)
Lahun is the name of a modern town at the entrance to the Fayum.
The ancient town in this area is often called Kahun after Petrie. Petrie/Brunton/Murray
1923: 1: "When I first discovered the town in 1887, I asked an old man whom
I met, what the name of it was, and he replied at once Kahun, and so it has
been since called".
On Digital Egypt for Universities the term Lahun is used for the town, the cemeteries and the pyramid complex
