The London merchant William Berney (c. 1728-1762) had three children, Dorothy Elizabeth (who married Edmund Boehm), Robert (the father of George Robert Boehm Berney) and Mary Eleanor, who married Thomas Henchman and died at New Burlington Street in 1799. (Henry Edward Doherty was the nephew of Emma Doherty née Henchman, although he is not identified as such in the National Probate Calendar). On 13/07/1886 administration of the will (effects £16065 5s 2d), left unadministered by Henry Edward Docherty, was granted to Beatrice Katherine Louisa Doherty of Vernon house [and?] Weston Park Bath, the administratix of the personal estate of Charles Wilshire Onslow Doherty, the residuary legatee.
