Son of David Dewar of St Kitts (of Enham House, which D.A.B. Dewar sold in 1817, and Doles, Co. Hants) and Penelope Susannah Mathew, awarded the compensation for Dewars in St Kitts (probably as owner-in-fee) and counterclaimed apparently unsuccessfully under other awards in St Kitts as trustee of the marriage settlement of the late Thos. Maitland and his wife Jane.
Born Andover Hampshire 08/07/1794. Harrow School after Westminster, of Doles Hall Andover; matriculated Trinity Cambridge 1812. Married Ann[e] Louisa Mage[n]nis St George Hanover Square 12/05/1821; died 25/11/1859.
Will with a codicil of David Albemarle Bertie Dewar of Great Cumberland Street and of Doles in the county of Southampton who died 25/11/1859 at 7 Great Cumberland Street proved 22/12/1859, effects under £70,000.
