Biography

Probably Ned Earl, son of white planter and attorney Edward Earl and an enslaved woman named Lucretia. Edward Earl senior was overseer on Orange Valley estate from at least Baptised 09/10/1824 in Trelawny, aged 38, at the same time has three of his younger half-brothers. Edward Earl senior bequeathed Seafield Pen in Trelawny to his 11 reputed children (the 8 youngest of whom were the children of Hardtime, also an enslaved person on Orange Valley). 10 of these children (including Ned) were manumised in 1808.

Edward Earl, age 38, was baptised in Trelawny, Jamaica 09/10/1824 at the same time as three of his younger half-brothers.
