William Colhoun

Early settler and merchant in St Kitts. According to Christopher Jeafereson, writing from St Kitts to his father-in-law in 1679/80: 'A more intelligent person and more knowing of the state and interests of this and the neighbour islandes could not be found; for he hath used this trade, and dwelt upon this island, these many yeares, and hath beene elected as one of the representatives or Assemblymen thereof.' Grandfather of Robert Colhoun of St Kitts (q.v.).
