Biography

Richard Clarke (sometimes given as Clark) Downer, previous owner of Lewis Manor in Berbice and of Lut-tot-Rust and Belle Vue (the latter two auctioned in 1832), born London c. 1780, then in Berbice and died at Marseilles aged 48 in 1828, 'late of Berbice'.
