Biography

Tentatively identified as the natural daughter of Thomas Bagnold I (q.v.) of Kingston.

  1. The will of Elizabeth Bagnold [late of the parish of St Andrew but now] of Great Coram Street Middlesex [made in 1840] was proved 23/12/1848. In the will she left £35 to her 'late slave' Maria now the wife of Philip Watt of Red Hill St Andrew, £335 to Hannah Moore Smith the wife of Robert Smith of Retreat Pen St Andrew, and £70 to Hannah McCorkell of North Street Kingston Jamaica widow. Her residuary heirs were her sons Edward Ford Hamilton of Jersey late a Major in the EIC; James Hamilton Murry of Trinidad; and William Hamilton a purser in the RN.
