Richard Wortley

Richard Wortley has a PhD in psychology, and worked as a prison psychologist for ten years before moving to academia. He was head of the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Griffith University (Australia) for 9 years, and is a past national Chair of the Australian Psychological Society’s College of Forensic Psychologists. His research interests centre on environmental criminology and situational crime prevention. In recent years his research has been particularly concerned with the role that immediate environments play in facilitating child sexual abuse. He has been a chief investigator on 8 national competitive grants in Australia with total finding of around $Aus2 million.
