Materials for Corneal and Retinal Therapy

The science behind the research

The use of stem cells for repair of retinal damage is a promising technique that aims at restoring vision to patients suffering from glaucoma and other diseases and conditions affecting the eye.

Ongoing research

The design and develop of free-standing films to be used as supports for the preparation of cellular scaffolds for novel treatment to the retina is being carried out at the Institute for Materials Discovery, in collaboration with the National Institute for Health Research.
