IFS Public Economics Lectures

The IFS is a research institute that provides high quality economic analysis independent of government, political party or any other vested interest. We look at a wide variety of public policy issues, from productivity growth to poverty reduction, and from promoting employment to ensuring sound public finances.

The IFS has delivered similar talks at Oxford and Cambridge for a number of years as part of their public economics programmes. The aim of this event is to make them available, free of charge, to a wider audience of students.

Lectures to be given on the day include:

  • Measuring the Cost of Living
  • Poverty and Inequality
  • Corrective Taxes
  • Corporate Taxes
  • Early Childhood Development Policies
  • Higher Education Funding
  • Health Care

There will also be a special Q&A session on working at the IFS.
