Andrew Chesher is William Stanley Jevons Professor of Economics and
Economic Measurement at UCL. In 2000, he founded the ESRC Centre for Microdata Methods and
Practice (Cemmap) and was recently President of the Royal Economic Society.
The Department of Economics at UCL has won a flagship contract to train the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s staff and diplomats around the world in economics, ranging from how different markets and exchange rates operate to the economics of climate change and macro-economic crises.
Professor Orazio Attanasio (UCL and IFS) has been elected second Vice-President of The Econometric Society. The Econometric Society is an international society
for the advancement of economic theory in its relation to statistics and
mathematics.Orazio will be First Vice-President in 2019, and President in 2020.
