Roz Shafran has been truly inspirational in going above and beyond in outreach and public engagement work. She has ensured we have the most ethnically diverse young person’s advisory group I have ever been involved with with a membership representing equally all the deciles of socio-economic status in childhood. And she has achieved this whilst demonstrating to younger members of the research team that success and a smile are not mutually exclusive! She really does model a healthy work/life balance for the rest of the team. Roz combines discretion, wisdom and intelligence and shows both initiative and enthusiasm. Roz shines not only as an excellent advocate for young people but has shown herself to be a compassionate, trustworthy and astute colleague.
