UCL Cultural Consultation Service

The UCL CCS (Cultural Consultation Service) aims to enhance learning and teaching outcomes for students and staff facing cross-cultural and social conflicts.

Confidentiality and Governance

The UCL Cultural Consultation Service is not a clinical service and does not provide medical treatment. However, where appropriate, we can help direct those whom we think will benefit from a more formal health consultation.

All enquiries to this service, and advice provided, are strictly confidential. More

Whilst maintaining confidentiality, our own work is overseen and audited through the office of the Vice-Provost (International) and the Dean of Students (Welfare). More

Service

What is the Service

Every year, UCL welcomes large numbers of students who have come to study in London from different cultures and countries around the world, including different regions of Britain. This is an exciting time: of anticipation, transition and re-location. However, we know that many students discover that studying in an academic environment different to the one they are used to is not straightforward.

What can we do

What can we do

We have experience of helping people in a number of ways. We will usually offer a one-hour initial meeting during which you will have the opportunity to discuss your situation in detail, in an informal and friendly atmosphere. In our experience, any issue that people wish to discuss usually has a number of aspects. The possible interventions are therefore many and varied.
