Training programme for Cancer Institute researchers

All students have a primary supervisor, a secondary supervisor and a thesis committee for individual subject training and support throughout.

During your first year you attend a cancer training programme to understand the key cancer science issues. This covers areas such as:

  • Human Tissue Act and the Biobank
  • Tissue Preparation and Staining
  • Basics of Proteomics
  • Principles of Good Clinical Lab Practice
  • Clinical Trial Design and Regulation
  • In vivo Study Design and Regulation
  • Preclinical Radiotherapy
  • Single Cell Analysis

For personal development, you will be under UCL's Doctoral School and take part in their development training programme.

If you have advanced queries about any of the above techniques, Translational Technology Platforms drop-in sessions are available to Principal Investigators, Postdocs, technicians and research students.
