| Ц ц | ts as in its |
| Ч ч | ch as in chess |
| Ш ш | sh as in fish |
| Щ щ | shsh as in fresh_chicken (longer and softer than ш) |
| Ъ ъ | the 'hard sign', with no sound of its own, used to separate a consonant from a following sound, the effect is just a brief pause |
| Ы ы | i as in bill (with the tip of the tongue a little further back) |
| Ь ь | the 'soft sign', makes the preceding consonant soft like the first n in onion |
