Vladimir Putin is the President of Russia (Russian Federation). The head of the government is premier Mikhail Kasyanov. The president is the chief of state and is elected by vote for a four-year term in Russia. Last election was held on the 26th of March 2000. Russian Legislation branch is a Federal Assembly of the Federation Council (Sovet Federatsii) and the State Duma. There are about 150 political parties, blocks and movements in Russia.
