History, Ethnography and Archaeology of African States

This module, which is seminar-based, involves the intensive study of historical and ethnographic texts on African states, leading to the formulation of archaeological models.

The module will develop the critical faculties of students regarding complex social structures, and expose them in-depth to African historical analysis.
