I currently work at the Institute for Bibliographic Studies at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. I am doing research on the creation, dissemination and use of primary electronic resources in the Humanities. I am currently working on a research project on the creation, dissemination and use of electronic resources in the Humanities, including setting up a DH network in Spanish. I also coordinate the project to manage and improve the digital visibility of the digital resources produced by academics at the university through the use of institutional repositories called RAD - Red de Acervos Digitales.
My main research interests are the creation and use of electronic resources,
information systems for managing digital information, the future
of electronic publishing and digital visibility.
I am currently an Honorary Research Fellow at the Department of Information Studies at UCL. It was here that I recently completed my PhD studies with a thesis on the use of
electronic resources
within
institutional
repositories and
the implications for scholarly communication and publishing. A copy is available from UCL Eprints.

Trabajo en el Instituto de Investigaciones Bibliográficas en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Mi investigación es en la creación, diseminación y uso de recursos electrónicos primarios en las Humanidades. Actualmente trabajo en un proyecto de investigación acerca de la creación, diseminación y uso de recursos digitales en las Humanidades. Esto incluye formar la RedHD Red de Humanidades Digitales (#RedHD). Adicionalmente coordino el grupo de trabajo de RAD-UNAM que busco mejorar el manejo de los recursos digitales producidos en la UNAM a través de una red de repositorios universitarios.

Just got back from DH2010 in London. It was a fantastic conference. I presented a poster, together with Ernesto Priani and Alí Martínez Abarrán on Knowledge and Conservation - Creating the Digital Library of New Hispanic Thought.
Since April 2010 I am now a researcher at the Institute for Bibliographic Studies at the UNAM. I will miss the Digital Publishing department at the DGSCA where I worked for many years, but this is a great opportunity to do research on Digital Humanities.
I am leaving UCL at the end of August 2009 to return to the National Autonomous University of Mexico (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México - UNAM) at the Digital Publishing Department. I'll continue to update this page until I get a new one at the UNAM.
PhD viva defense was on the 30th of June 2009 and thesis now
passsed and accpeted.
I'll be speaking on digital resources at the 3rd
Bloomsbury conference on e-publishing - Beyond Books and Journals on
the 25th of June.
Second term has begun. I will be teaching Legal and Social Aspects of Electronic
Publishing and Web Publishing. More on my UCL
staff page.
New term beginning pretty soon. I'll be teaching Digital Resources in the
Humanities. Have also done my staff
