Copyright trust for Bman's Pub

It is sad that this text is required, since I naively believed that the spirit of the pub was such that explotation could not have occured from it. Unfortunatly, I now see that this is not true, and naivety is no way to hide from the difficult issues that surround copyright law.

Because of this, I am expanding on my copyright claims and clearly defining what the copyrights for this website are. ALL written material on this site is protected by copyright. Most of the material is by the webmaster, and I hold sole copyright to it. As with all copyright law, the copyright belongs to the original composer, and contacting the webmaster about usage may not be enough, though this is the best place to start.

All design and graphics are copyrighted to the owner of the website, with a few notable exceptions. Pictures found within the personal profiles are considered to have the sole copyright authority of the person of whom the picture is taken, and they alone have rights over it's useage. The sixdegrees icon is copyright of sixdegrees corporation, and they hold sole rights. The pictures found on the meetings page are mostly from the webmaster, but no distinction is made. The copyright for some of these images are NOT owned by the webmaster, and the copyright in these cases belongs to the person who took the picture, although I personally will not allow use without the authority of those in the picture as well.

The term, Bman is a personally created chatname by Bill McDonald, but the usage of the term Bman's Pub and other terms created within the chatroom should be considered public domain due to their continual and changing meaning to a large number of people. The Bman, Bwoman, Byourself slogan is one of unknown and anon origin and is also considered public domain. We are all the pub, people.

Again, I'm very sorry to hit out like this, but I felt aggrieved at usage without permission, but even more so by the level of ignorance that followed it. Copyright law is a fundamental protection for all artists, designers, writers and creators, and the internet itself is a new medium which allows expression to a greater and more dynamic audience than with any medium in the past. Disregard for copyright laws threaten to destroy this with mundanity and thus destroy internet as we know it.

It should be quite clear that usage of graphics, text or design from the website is only allowed with clear previous permission.
