We offer free, confidential, one-to-one tutorials online, which are currently online and last up to 60 minutes.
What happens in a tutorial?
Ultimately, the tutorial is your opportunity to discuss your work. It could take the form of a brainstorm session with the tutor, you could discuss a specific section of your work, or you could discuss a draft of an essay in detail. It's entirely up to you.
When attending a tutorial, please bring all relevant materials (e.g. essay titles, instructions from course tutors, plans, writing samples) ideally in hard-copy, so we can help you more efficiently. Please note, the Writing Lab does not offer any proofreading services.
When are tutorials available?
Tutorials run form Week 6 in Term 1, and then throughout Term 2, Term 3, and all vacation periods. They are made available to book about a week in advance, and are released in weekly batches.
How do I book a tutorial?
You will need to enrol on the Writing Lab moodle page and go to the One-to-One Tutorials section.
What if the tutorials are fully booked?
You can add your name to the waiting list, and we'll let you know of any cancellations. See the Writing Lab Moodle for details.
