Dr Katie Gallagher
Katie is a HEE/NIHR Clinical Lecturer and neonatal nurse with a long-standing interest in improving parental engagement in the care of their critically unwell baby during neonatal admission. Katie’s research is clinically based and current funded projects include the development of a core outcome set for neonatal palliative care, the exploration of attitudes towards the treatment of extremely preterm infants, and determining optimal frequency of bathing babies in neonatal care, amongst others. Katie supports MSc and PhD students at the IfWH. She is an Executive Board member of the Neonatal Nurses Association (NNA) and Chairs the NNA Linking Education and Research Group (LEARN) and initiated and chairs the NNA PhD support group.
