CASSAVA Preterm Mode of Birth Feasibility Trial

Feasibility study in set-up, funded by NIHR and jointly led by UCL in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh, to investigate preterm mode of birth and its relation to brain injury and perinatal death. 

UCL will lead the development of expert consensus as to which research question should be addressed with the definitive trial.

COPE RCT

Multi-centre clinical trial funded by NIHR conducted in collaboration with the University of Liverpool to investigate the best medication for first line treatment of postpartum haemorrhage.

THISTLE RCT

Stepped-wedge RCT of PROMPT training in Scotland. Siassakos co-developed the study proposal and is a co-investigator. Content and implementation of PROMPT varied widely among units, and the analysis as-implemented did not show any improvement in outcome (Apgar scores) with PROMPT training (publication in progress). The THISTLE Plus Process Evaluation will help shed light as to the factors that influenced implementation and outcome.
