Please join us at Professor Adam Rosenthal's Inaugural Lecture for his appointment of Professor of Gynaecological Cancer Prevention at University College London, EGA Institute for Women's Health entitled 'An Unwelcome Inheritance: Tales from Cancer Prevention' at The UCH Education Centre, Seminar Room 2 and 3, 1st Floor West, 250 Euston Road, London, NW1 2PG.

About the Speaker

Professor Adam Rosenthal

Professor of Gynaecological Cancer Prevention at EGA Institute for Women's Health/UCL

Professor Adam Rosenthal is a Consultant Gynaecologist at UCLH, where he leads the cervical cancer screening and inherited gynaecological cancer surgical prevention programs, chairing the UCLH Colposcopy and London Cancer Risk-reducing Gynaecological Surgery MDTs.  

Having worked as a gynaecological cancer surgeon for many years, he is now one of the UKs foremost cancer-prevention surgeons and gynaecological cancer screening experts. He was the clinical lead on the world’s largest surveillance trial for women at high risk of ovarian cancer (UKFOCSS). He subsequently led the NHS pilot ovarian cancer screening program for women with inherited BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene alterations (ALDO). He has served on the UK Cancer Genetics Group steering committee, the NICE Familial Ovarian Cancer Guideline Committee, and currently sits on NHS England’s Cervical Screening Research, Innovation and Development Advisory Committee.  

Adam has been a medical advisor to all three of the UK’s ovarian cancer charities and is currently a trustee of The Eve Appeal, the UK’s foremost gynaecological cancer charity. He is a passionate advocate for the optimal care of women at increased risk of gynaecological cancer and has appeared on mainstream radio and TV to discuss issues around this hugely important area of medicine.
