Do you have experience of involuntary migration? Would you like to learn more about university and the UK education system?

Taking place during this year’s Refugee Week, the UCL Access and Widening Participation team is organising an event specifically for young people in Years 10-13 with backgrounds of forced migration. The event will take place between 10am and 3:30pm on Thursday 19 June.

At the event you will get to visit the UCL campus, take part in interactive activities and learn more about university. You will also get to speak to UCL staff and current students to find out more about the support that we offer at UCL for sanctuary students and to ask any questions that you might have.

The event is open to young people who:

  • Are in Years 10-13, currently studying at a UK state school or college;
  • Are interested in learning more about higher education; and
  • Have a background of involuntary migration (e.g. refugee, asylum-seeker)

If you would like to attend this event you can sign up using the link below. Please complete the sign-up form with a parent or carer nearby, as they will need to complete some sections of the form. Parents and carers do not need to attend on the day.

The deadline to sign up is 10am on Wednesday 4 June.

The event is free to attend and lunch will be provided for all attendees.

If you have any questions about this visit, please get in touch by sending an email to wp.pre16@ucl.ac.uk.

Furhter information about the support we offer to forced migrant students can be found in the Priority Groups section of our website.
