UCL's Post-16 Virtual Visits are an exciting new opportunity for UK state schools to support their students in gaining a greater insight into higher education
These events are held online and usually last between one and three hours. All visits include an introduction to UCL. Groups may also request up to two further sessions out of the following:
- Applying to Competitive Universities
- Choosing Your Course and University
- Student Finance
- Personal statement workshop
- Q&A session with Student Ambassadors
- Subject-specific taster lecture
Where possible, we prefer to host your highly able or gifted and talented students as those who are planning to apply to competitive universities will find these events of most relevance. As guidance we suggest that all students attending should be on track to meet UCL's minimum entry requirements of BBB at A Level, or equivalent.
If you have any questions please contact the UCL Access and Widening Participation Office's Post-16 team.
Our events and activities are funded by UCL's Access and Participation Plan. In order to be eligible to apply you must be a member of staff at a state school in the UK.
Please note: As resources are limited, we prioritise schools that have the highest levels of disadvantage across a range of criteria including free school meals, progression to higher education and deprivation.
If you would like your school to take part in a Post-16 Virtual Visit you will need to apply through the online form below.
Applications will be processed on a rolling basis. We will let you know whether you have been successful approximately 2 weeks after your application.
Please note: These events should be arranged by teachers/school staff. If you are a student attending a UK state school and are interested in these sessions, please speak to one of your teachers and point them towards this page.
