Subject Spotlights are in-person, subject-specific taster days running in June and July for Year 12 students to get a taste of university level study.

Get a taste of your favourite subject at university level! Subject Spotlights are in-person, subject-specific taster days running in June and July for Year 12 students, featuring sessions by UCL academics on your chosen subject alongside an opportunity to meet current UCL students and find out what it’s like to study at a London university. The admissions process will also be covered in these sessions.
Full details of the timetable for each day are to be confirmed, but the general outline of each day is as follows:
- 9:30 am to 12 pm – Welcome to UCL, information sessions, campus tour
- 12 to 1 pm – Lunch (provided by us)
- 1 to 4 pm – Subject-specific academic taster session

Eligibility criteria
UCL Subject Spotlights are open to students who are currently in Year 12 or equivalent and are studying at a state school or college in the UK.
Participants will be selected using the shortlisting criteria found on the Who we work with webpage to prioritise young people from the least represented groups. You will be awarded points based on the number of criteria that you meet. Applicants with the highest numbers of points will be offered the places on the programme. Priority will be given to applicants who are on track to meet the minimum entry requirements for their chosen subject.
