Information, Advice and Guidance

At UCL, we organise a range of online and in-person events for Year 12 students from the least represented groups in Higher Education. Our programmes aim to provide Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG) on university application processes, pathways to university including support with choices, and life as a UCL student.

UCL Insights Day

Insights Day is for Year 12 students looking to experience new subjects areas through taster sessions led by UCL academics.

UCL Subject Spotlights

Subject Spotlights are in-person, subject-specific taster days running in June for Year 12 students to get guidance and information on living and studying at UCL, and to get a taste of university level study.

Masterclasses

Masterclasses are a range of online, subject-specific, hour-long sessions for students in Year 12 running weekly from 4–5pm, March – May 2025.

Personal Statement Workshops

Our Personal Statement Workshops are designed for Year 12 students to receive advice from UCL staff and students. These sessions will give you the confidence to write an effective personal statement.
