Matthew Beaumont, Ben Campkin and Barbara Penner are among the keynote speakers at the Writing Buildings conference at the Kent School of Architecture in July.

The conference offers a varied field of speakers approaching the subject of writing about buildings. Conference sessions are organised around  themes such as 'Literary responses to architecture in the past'; 'Creative writing about spaces in the present'; and 'Performance and practice'. The intention is to offer an unparalleled opportunity to be part of a global conversation which will enrich the writing and teaching of all those who work with buildings.

Other UCL speakers include Claire Dwyer (UCL Geography) and Edwina Attlee (Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL), whilst other speakers include Iain Sinclair (author), Ian Dungavell (The Victorian Society), Alexandra Harris (University of Liverpool), Oliver Wainwright (The Guardian), Shumi Bose (co-curator of the British Pavilion at the 2016 Venice Biennale), Rob Wilson (former editor of Uncube), Jonathan Meades (journalist), and Catherine Slessor (former editor of The Architectural Review).

Full conference registration costs £250, and you can book tickets on the University of Kent website.
