Join UCL Urban Laboratory and the URBAN LAB+ network for the launch event of Turning Tables at the 15th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, responding to this year's theme Reporting from the Front.

Our exhibit asks how educational institutions can learn from each other, recognize common ground and unite to challenge existing models that simplify, segregate and monopolize urban space. As part of the URBAN LAB+ International Network of Urban Laboratories, we aim to turn the tables; to step outside the standard university framework and find new ways of preparing for action, for reflecting on and interacting with, the urban environment.

We are exhibiting as part of collateral exhibition TIME, SPACE EXISTENCE at Palazzo Mora, organised by Dutch non-profit foundation Global Art Affairs, presenting architects from six continents, with a large diversity of presentations (models, concepts, research results, dreams, hopes and ideas), combining classical architectural presentations with surprising artistic elements.

The exhibit will be on display to the public until 27 November 2016.

UCL Urban Laboratory will be organising a series of activities in Venice as part of the exhibition in the autumn. For more information, please contact Jordan Rowe.

The URBAN LAB+ initiative includes eight urban laboratories from across the world: Technische Universität Berlin (Germany), École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (Switzerland), Università della Calabria (Italy), Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (Chile), Wits University (South Africa), Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute (India), Chinese University of Hong Kong (China), University College London (United Kingdom).
