ground up'. Discussions, films, workshops and exhibitions, all by emerging
urbanists.

Highlights of the programme include:
Four Soapbox/ 'Oh, that's interesting'sessions programmed by Dr Ben
Campkin (UCL Bartlett School of Architecture/Urban Laboratory), featuring
presentations by a range of urban researchers from across UCL's
undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, critically examining topics
ranging from social mix and interaction in Shanghai, to the London Olympic
development, and issues of sustainability as they relate to the City of
London's iconic buildings. Current students and recent UCL graduates
participating in these events will include:

Richard Wei-Tse Wang (UCL Bartlett School of Planning)
Catherine Greig (graduate, UCL Bartlett School of Architecture).
Joel Cady (graduate, UCL Bartlett School of Architecture).

Tse-Hui Teh (UCL Civil, Environmental And Geomatic Engineering).
The launch of PICTURING PLACE - a research and urban image cataloguing
project which critically explores the role of images and image-production in
processes of urban change - a collaboration between Ben Campkin (UCL),
Rebecca Ross (Central St Martins School of Art and Design) and Mariana
Mogilevich (Harvard Graduate School of Design). A panel discussion at the
launch will include contributions from Louis Moreno (CABE/UCL Urban
Laboratory), Hilary Powell (Optimistic Productions), Mike Seabourne (Museum
of London) and David Bownes (London Transport Museum).
