The Urban Laboratory fosters a dynamic academic environment, where the study of urban issues integrates theory and practice, drawing from fields such as urban studies, architecture, planning, geography, sociology, and more.
The Master’s in Global Urbanism offers an interdisciplinary approach to understanding global urban challenges, with a focus on sustainability, inequality, and migration. The course provides a global perspective, addressing urban issues in both the global south and north. Students benefit from research-led teaching and gain valuable career opportunities in urban planning, policy, and development.
The course is based at UCL East campus on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. This offers exciting new multi-disciplinary opportunities focused on tackling the biggest challenges facing people and our planet. Students also benefit from The Urban Room, a dedicated space for research, public engagement, and collaboration, hosts events, exhibitions, and discussions on topics such as sustainability, inequality, and urban development. It provides insights into how cities can evolve to meet modern challenges.
