Organised by the Design Museum, join Urban Laboratory Co-Director Prof Matthew Beaumont on a walking tour to explore the relationships between literature and the city.

Tracing hidden rivers and hidden narratives, the walk will uncover historical layers of London to ask what the city's relationship to the night has been and might become.

Part of the Design Museum's 'Walking the City' series, exploring how the act of walking can create new ways of understanding, celebrating and re-imagining the city.

Matthew Beaumont is a Professor of English Literature at UCL and author of several books, including Nightwalking: A Nocturnal History of London (Verso, 2015).
