Stadtklang returns on Saturday 7th October for a special event of conversation and music for the #FutureTrends exhibition at The Africa Centre.
Architects, curators, theorists, musicians and writers will explore the influence of African cities, culture and sound on the way the future is imagined today.
Featuring:
Dele Adeyemo (pidgin perfect),
Elvira Dyangani Ose (Goldsmiths)
Prof. Julian Henriques (Goldsmiths)
Dr. Jenny Mbaye (City University)
+ Stadtklang DJs and guest playlists will provide an Afrofuturist soundtrack for more discussion and dancing
The event celebrates the #FutureTrends exhibition which looks into a utopian future where fashion and architecture from East Africa combine to create new desires. The exhibition showcases work from emerging urban cultures using fashion and styling to express new identities. Playing with gender, sexuality and new forms of social exchange, a future image of society is presented.
All welcome, free entry. Please RSVP on the Future Trends Eventbrite page.
Stadtklang is UCL Urban Laboratory's & Goldsmiths Department of Visual Cultures music night - exploring urban sound in convivial environments.
